Newsletter for the First Sunday of Advent B

Visiting the sick

We are unfortunately unable to visit the sick in their homes at this time. We are still in contact either by phone, or e-mail.

Thank you to all who continue to work in tracking and tracing and cleaning the churches

We give thanks to all who are working so tirelessly to keep our churches safe and open, at this time. Many people have asked if they have to book to come along to mass, during the week, or at the weekend. There are always plenty spaces, and you are all most welcome.

Many people have asked me what is going to happen regarding masses over the Christmas period. Times have still to be arranged, but due to their only being one priest, and the problem of limited numbers of cleaners, and limited numbers who can attend mass at one time, (I.E. 50), we will probably have to have a booking system in place nearer the time.

My day booklets are available now at the back of St. John’s and St. Mary’s.

Mass for the Holy Souls

Many thanks to all who made the effort to come along for our mass for the Holy Souls on Thursday. It was a wonderful turnout, and a very moving Liturgy. Special thanks to Kevin Cameron, who put in so much work to the music.

Advent 2020

This Sunday, we celebrate the first Sunday of Advent. In Advent the Church prepares to celebrate the Nativity when we recall Christ’s first coming. Advent is a time for all of us of great hope, and gives us the courage and strength to continually journey towards without fear, but rather in confidence.

R.I.P. Margaret MacEachan and Michael Judge

We pray for the repose of the souls of Margaret MacEachan and Michael Judge. To their family and friends, we offer our support and prayers.

Margaret’s funeral mass will be on Tuesday the 1st of December at 10.15am in St. Mary’s. Michael’s funeral service will be on Saturday the 5th of December at 11am, in St. John’s Caol.
