Sick Housebound and those in Care Homes or in Hospital
A huge part of our pastoral work is taken up with visiting the sick and the housebound, which is a privilege to do. Unfortunately, we are often not informed of those who are in hospital or housebound, this makes it difficult to provide pastoral care for them. If you have anyone that you know who needs a pastoral visit, please get in touch with either,
Deacon Thomas or myself. Fr. David
Dental Work
Over the next few months, I must get considerable dental work done, this will mean travelling to Edinburgh on six to eight occasions. Unfortunately, this will mean I am away from the parish for short periods of time. Please bear with me as I get this work done.
Ecclesiastical Students Fund
This Sunday there will be a second collection for the sick and retired priests of the diocese. Please be as generous as you possibly can.
Bishop Brian Request
Many thanks to those who have volunteered to help regarding the discussion for the future of the diocese. Fr. David.
Fr. Charles New Book
Fr. Charles shas written a new called “What Remains”. I can thoroughly recommend this book.
It is priced at £10, and the books are for sale at the back of the church.
Heating in St. Mary’s
I apologise that the heating is not on, as the weather is changing. The heating will go at the beginning of October. The reason for this is that we are around £2,500 a month in the winter for heating and basically cannot afford to have it on sooner. The Lady Chapel will be heated during the week, for morning mass.
Oban Meetings
I will be away in Oban for the annual clergy meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. There will be no mass or services on these days.
