Sick Housebound and those in Care Homes or in Hospital

A huge part of our pastoral work is taken up with visiting the sick and the housebound, which is a privilege to do. Unfortunately, we are often not informed of those who are in hospital or housebound, this makes it difficult to provide pastoral care for them. If you have anyone that you know who needs a pastoral visit, please get in touch with either,

Deacon Thomas or myself. Fr. David

Dental Work

Over the next few months, I must get considerable dental work done, this will mean travelling to Edinburgh on six to eight occasions. Unfortunately, this will mean I am away from the parish for short periods of time. Please bear with me as I get this work done.

Sick and Retired Priests

Next Sunday there will be a second collection for the sick and retired priests of the diocese. Please be as generous as you possibly can.

Teas and Coffees

There will be teas and coffees in the parish house next Sunday after mass. All are welcome.

Bishop Brian Request

Bishop Brian has put out a pastoral letter for the continued mission of the diocese.

To discern going forward he will require two lay people to come forward for nine meetings in October and November every Monday night for two hours. I realise that this is a great commitment, but it is very important for us all as a diocese going forward. Anyone wishing to be involved in the process, please speak to me. Fr. David.

Mass at Cille Choirill

Fr. Danny has asked me to advertise that there will be mass at Cille Choirill next Sunday the 30th of August at 2pm. All are very welcome.

St. Columba’s School

Please note that our morning mass on Friday will be in St. Columba’s school at 10am.

All are very welcome.

Fr. Charles New Book

Fr. Charle shas written a new called “What Remains”. I can thoroughly recommend this book.

It is priced at £10, and the books are for sale at the back of the church.
