Finance Meeting

It is proposed that we will have a Finance meeting on Tuesday the 30th of September at 7pm, in St. Mary’s chapel house. Note the change of date.

Oban Meetings of the Clergy

All the clergy of the diocese gathered recently: the subjects we discussed were. The implementation of the synod, in our parishes. A discussion on Services of Word and Communion, and the input of the laity in pastoral work. Vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life, particularly in our diocese. As we have no one studying for the priesthood at the moment, it will take at least six or seven years before we have another priest ordained for the diocese. This will have a huge impact going forward in the future, of you the people of God. Safeguarding: We were brought up to date with our safeguarding training, which is so important in keeping us all safe.

Pastoral from the Bishop about the situation in the Holy Land

There is a pastoral letter from Bishop Brian about the situation in the Holy Land. Please take a letter which is at the back of the church.

Conforti Music Weekend

Thank you to Fr. Charles for letting myself and Deacon Thomas away last weekend for the Diocesan Choir Weekend. It was a great success. Thanks to all involved. The choir will meet again on the 1st to the 3rd of May 2026. Please save the date.

Jubilee Cross for the Year of Hope

We have received the Jubilee Cross for the Year of Hope. Please feel free to reverence the cross and remain hopeful in this year of hope. It is hoped that in the winter months for mass we can use the Lady Chapel for mass, which is easier to heat.

Heating for St. Mary’s

I apologise that the church heating is still off. As it costs over £3,000 pounds a month to run the heating in the winter, the heating will go in the next two weeks.

Teas and Coffees St. Mary’s

Next Sunday the 5th of October there will be teas and coffees in St. Mary’s Parish House. All are welcome.
