Chrism Mass

This year’s Chrism Mass will be held on Wednesday the 6th of April at 6pm, in Oban Cathedral, all are most welcome. Unfortunately due to Covid there will be no bus going down, but those wishing to go, please speak to others who are going by car.

Organist

With Kevin leaving to go to pastures new, we are in need of an organist to play on Sundays at St. Mary’s, and as required. If anyone knows of anyone who could help with this post, please contact Fr. David. There will be a salary commensurate to experience, and the time that they are able to give to the role.

St. Mary’s roof repairs, and the second phase of the painting of the church

We spoke to Nodram the painters, who are carrying out the work in St. Mary’s Our collection towards the work stands at £12,260. Thank you so much for all your help.

We are having problems accessing a machine which that is appropriate to carry out the works, and this is unfortunately meaning that the second phase of the job, will not be completed as quickly as we thought.

New Organ for St. Mary’s

I have been in discussions this week about the new organ for St. Mary’s, the speakers are being made at the moment and I am hoping that all being well it will be in place by Easter.

Stations of the Cross

There will be stations of the cross in St. John’s Caol on Tuesday evening’s at 7pm, this week we will have a Holy Hour for Peace in St. Mary’s Thursday evening at 7pm, all are most welcome.

Meeting for the Readers at Mass

It is proposed that we will have a meeting of all the readers from all the parishes on Monday the 4th of April at 7pm, in St. Mary’s.

S.C.I.AF. 4TH Sunday of Lent Collection

There will be a second collection this week for the work of S.C.I.AF. this Sunday at all masses. I realise this is quite an ask as we had a collection, just last week for the people of the Ukraine. Please just give what can. Thank you very much. Fr David.

Archie Nicol

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Archie Nicol. Archie was a wonderful parishioner, and friend to so many. We pray for the happy repose of his soul. His Requiem Mass will be in St. Mary’s at 10.15am on Thursday the 7th of April.
