Children’s Liturgy
We are hoping to restart the children’s liturgy again in St. Mary’s but for safeguarding regulations. We will need another two adults that have done the safeguarding course to help out. This is not a difficult course to go through, but without this there will be no Children’s Liturgy.
Parish Council Meeting
We held our first Parish Pastoral Council meeting this week, and it was a great success.
The main points that came out of the meeting were, starting some kind of group for the children of the parish, hoping to get a SVDP group up and running to help in the community with those who are struggling, to have more contact with the school and more regular masses with the children and parishioners. And generally, to see where the greatest need is in our parishes and community. There will be a Parish Council Meeting on 25th of October 7pm.
Exposition of the blessed sacrament
There will be exposition of the blessed sacrament every Friday morning after mass for half an hour.
Helping local families with Utilities and Food
At our Parish Council meeting we decided to earmark local families which would be most in need of help this winter. It was proposed that depending on the amount of money raised by the parishioners we will then decide how many families we can help. We will have a second collection this weekend at all masses for this worthy cause.
We thank those who gave so generously to our collection last week, the monies raised where in the region of £1200 pounds, many thanks indeed for your generosity.
October Devotions
We will have October Devotions on Friday the
28th of October at 6pm in St. Mary’s, this will be followed by a light supper and drinks in the parish house. All are most welcome.
Sadie Morrison R.I.P.
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sadie Morrison. Sadie was a great character and a faithful parishioner. Sadie’s funeral service will be on Wednesday the 2nd of November at 11.30 am in St. Mary’s Fort William, all are most welcome.
