World Mission Sunday

Please take home a copy of the Mission Month magazine and read about the projects              Missio is supporting in Sri Lanka, such as: nourishing children, physically and educationally, providing women who have suffered greatly in their lives with the chance to earn a livelihood as well as literally and spiritually building the church there. Mission Month and World Mission Sunday offer us the chance to support missionaries and the church in proclaiming the Gospel throughout the world, particularly where the church is young and poor, and remind us of the revitalising mission that is at the heart of our faith. The World Mission Sunday Collection, taken up worldwide, ensures that this life-saving and life-giving work can continue. Your donations and prayers make a vital difference to the Church’s work in mission countries and are an effective way by which you can support the Universal Church.                                 Thank you very much indeed for your continued generosity.

Fr. David, Personal Reflection on the work of Missio

I have been blessed to visit and see firsthand the wonderful work that Missio does to take people out of poverty. When I was in Zambia we visited a project, that took young children of the streets and fed them, gave them a home, educated them. I am blessed to still be in touch with some off them on social media. One young man springs to mind. His name was Jonathan and he dreamt of being a pilot. Recently. His dream has been realised and he passed his exams and is now flying the length and breadth of the country. There are so many other stories, just like this one, where young men and women, have been loved and supported, and have fulfilled their full potential. This would not happen without the support of your prayers and your donations, so thank you for all that you do to help.

Holy Hour for Peace

It is proposed to have a Holy Hour for Peace in the Holy Land in St. Mary’s on Thursday the 26th of October at 7pm. Please come along and prayer for all those countries in turmoil.

St. John’s Caol, and St. Mary and St. Finnan’s Glenfinnan

This Sunday will be my last Sunday in the parishes of Caol and Glenfinnan. I want to thank you the people so much for making me so welcome, and for your witness to the faith of Jesus Christ. Fr. Walter will take up his duties as Parish Priest from next Friday the 27th of October. It is important to stress that all pastoral matters will be dealt with by Fr. Walter these parishes are no longer my responsibility. Please give him a warm Lochaber welcome.
