Pilgrimage to Carfin for the relics of St. Bernadette
It is proposed that we will have a day of pilgrimage to Carfin in the diocese of Motherwell. To venerate the relics of St. Bernadette, and to also have a tour of the grotto, and some lunch. The proposed date for this is the Friday the 30th of September leaving around 7.30am. Thanks to all who have signed up for our pilgrimage. There are around three seats left for those who are still interested. We now have a price for the bus and the cost is a very reasonable £20 per person. Regarding lunch, you can eat at the café in Carfin, or if you wish to take your own pack lunch.
The programme is as follows, Arrive Carfin around 11am, then there will be a chance for Rosary, Confessions, and to pray with the relics, for those who wish. Pilgrim Mass will be at 1pm, followed by lunch, and then Liturgy of Water, we will leave around 4pm, and hopefully be back home around 7.30pm. There are a few leaflets at the back of the church with the itinerary.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Those children who wish to make their Confirmation, please could you come along to catechesis after mass in St. Mary’s. Starting next Sunday the 18th of September. I haven’t a date yet for the Confirmations yet, but it will probably be the beginning of November.
Children’s Liturgy
We are hoping to restart the children’s liturgy again in St. Mary’s but for safeguarding regulations. We will need another two adults that have done the safeguarding course to help out. This is not a difficult course to go through, but without this there will be no Children’s Liturgy.
